BWCA 2011

Barrett wanted a nudist camp... it didn't catch on. But he was happy!

Our shower Home for 5 days......

Kids love the fire!

Beautiful, peaceful and cold water!

Nevaeh is the only kids who could handle it

Here are the two monsters taking turns fishing. Kayhlen has waited MONTHS to use the Dora fishing pole. My dad was the only one who caugh anything... and it could have been used as bait!

In Grand Marais (or what Nevaeh calls The Grand Marais). On the walk out to the light house Mike and Nevaeh built with the rock
Enjoying custard from Sydney's
Everyone loves the rocks.

We made our way up to the BWCA on Wednesday and came home Sunday. We had great weather, it only rained (and thunder rumbled all night) one night.

Our first full day there my dad and Mike took Nevaeh fishing in the canoe where they heard wolves howling to eachother and then saw 3 wolves (so lucky)! They brought home 8 trout for Thursday night dinner, gotta love surf and turf! While they were out fishing Leah, my mom, Kayhelen, Barrett and I thought we'd waste time by driving around to see animals and going into the Sawbill Outfitters for showers. That blew up in our faces! The dirt roads were HORRIBLE that the Yukon felt like it was going to break in half. Suddenly my truck stopped moving and I open my door to find gas spraying out. We all hurried to unload the kids, then our stuff in case it were to blow up... then we realized it wasn't going to. Being stranded on a dirt road, in the middle of no where and one bar of cell phone service my mom called AAA and Pam rescued us! Our hour and half trip turned into a 6 + hour trip. Leah, the kids and I got to ride in the truck on the tow truck... we all found it amusing! The Yukon was hauled all the way to Two Harbors (hour away) and the wonderful people at the dealership delivered it back the next day free of charge!!

Our days could only get better! At night we would hear the wolves howling around us, good food (some good booze) and tired kids. On Saturday we went to Grand Marais and had perfect weather. The kids love it there, mainly because of all the rocks to throw.

We had fun and on Sunday we were ready for plumbing. Kayhlen pooped like 6 times on Monday since she couldn't squeeze them out in the outhouse. Until next year!
