Target to ER

On Monday Kayhlen fell out of the cart at Target, and landed on her forehead. I was getting milk at the time and when I turned around she hit the cement floor. There was a huge smack noise and I was hoping it was mostly from her hands. I picked her up thinking there would be gushing blood, but her lip was bleeding a little and she had a mark on her forehead that instantly turned black and blue and started growing before my eyes. We started making a bee line to get ice and it just kept growing. Her poor "egg" looked like it was going to explode. I tried staying as calm as can be telling her it was okay.

We made it to the Minute Clinic to get an ice pack (escorted by a Target employee) and then decided I should take the Kayhlen to Urgent Care. On our way out of the store managers were walking with us telling us we are welcome to come back and fill out reports (maybe I should have, and maybe I would have gotten gift cards :)). I loaded the kids in the car and went about 1 mile to the Urgent Care/ER clinic and they checked us right in.

As soon as we got us in a room I turned on the TV and Kayhlen instantly stopped crying. I know that magic box would take her mind off her head! We were there for 2 1/2 hours and since Kayhlen hadn't passed out, vomited and was running around playing they said she was fine. Her poor little forehead is still a big bump and starting to bruise around the eyes. She will look like one tough girl by this weekend! She has been very tough, she always says it doesn't hurt! She must be my girl :)
