My father in law gave Leah and I a wonderful gift, 4th row seats for Tyler Florence's food demonstration at the casino. Leah and I have been counting down from about 3 months ago and we bought brand new TF cookbooks to be signed. We were MOST excited that we got meet and greet wrist bands (thanks to Mark again)! Tyler's demonstration was from his new cookbook coming out October 12th, Family Meal. We could smell his food cooking from our seats... which was cruel cause my stomach was growling! He made: chicken fried steak with milk gravy, a sweet potato dish, green bean dish and banana pudding. MMMMM!
I'm so happy to say that Tyler was very kind and extremely funny! He stopped his cooking 2 times to meet a couple fans. The buffet's executive chef was helping and he goofed up a couple times, but Tyler was so laid back nothing could go wrong! Tyler's wife even called him during his time on stage, he answered it an put her on speaker phone. His jokes were funny, stories interesting and he explained what and why you do things in the recipes.
It's no wonder why Tyler has been a star on the Food Network for 15 years, he has 3 restaurants, and many other things. He has been one of my favorite celebrity chefs and I like him even more after watching him live and meeting him! Any celebrity that treat fans the way he did deserves to be so successful!
